Track cleats and pedals

I will be doing final preparations on my new-to-me late-80s Bianchi Brava in a couple of weeks for riding this summer.

Back in that same era, when I was riding my other Bianchi (why didn't I look after it?!!!), I rode with toe clips and (what I've seen recently referred to as) track cleats. I found my old shoes but the cleat itself (plastic, inexpensive shoes) is worn so I'd like to replace the cleats. I'd also like to get a better set of pedals, the ones currently on the bike are rather rusty.

I had a look at some MKS track pedals and although I won't be riding on a track, nor do I need to spend top dollar on the lightest pedals, I'd like to get some decent pedals to go with this type of setup. Can anyone provide a recommendation?

I also looked at the Exustar C-100 track cleats and although I quite like them, for the sake of comparison, does anyone know of any others I might consider?

What brans shoes? Would these fit?

By the way, they're not really "track" cleats. Just cleats. For road use too.

Yes, I realize that they aren't only for track use but MKS and Exustar (perhaps others) make track pedals designed for this type of cleat. My old shoes are Duegi, similar in appearance to these.

I never rode track, but I've noticed track riders usually used two sets of straps. When I rode cleats I prefered the long base TA Anquetils, and they were nailed and screwed to the soles of my Eddy Merkyx shoes!
