I'm glad Gordo bumped the thread so I would notice it. Good work!

Looks SO different from that old Red HULK of a frame you started with! Very CLASSY looking!

I had never looked at this thread until today -- the title didn't catch my interest -- but I must say, that is such a cool bike. Very nice job. Sometimes I wish I lived somewhere a bit flatter -- but I guess then there would be so many more bikes to n+1...

I somehow managed to miss this thread until now. Not good.
Well done, TR! |
Thanks guys!
It was a Raleigh of Canada Grand Prix frameset. I looked up the serial number back when I first started, if I remember correctly, it was a 1981. Funny thing, when I first started building it I intended it to be an "occasional" bike... turns out I ride it more than my road bike now. LoL |
Sometimes, I find the lowbrow bike just suits more needs, which is why I'm on it more often. Plus it's plenty fun.

You are NOT kidding about the weight of those two speed hubs, I happen to have one at the moment, a yellow band 2-speed Bendix...weighs in at 3 pounds 10 ounces....almost as much as an old road frame!

TR did you ever end up using fenders? , i was able to get a nice set of SKS fenders installed with my 700x28 pasellas, still tweaking the fender line, but it looks nice, thanks for the inspiration !
