pedal question..

so im in the process of finishing up my 82 trek 412, i have a complete shimano 600 arabesque group on it, (except headset and bb ) and i do have shimano 600ex pedals, but the cages were toasted,, thanks to the BOC

they looked like the 105 pedals

so i can either somehow manage to fab up a cage for the shimano 600ex pedal, or go to clipless, ( i know its a no no)

i do have a set of plastic mountain bike cages that i think will work, but they look like crap... anybody know if i can get replacement cages for these guys? i was talking to the guys down at our coop and they said that it was common for these cages to break..so maybe i should stay away from these...

thanks

The 600 series had steel cages. The plastic 105 series cage will work, but good luck finding either for less than lots of money.

well the pedals i got from the BOC had plastic cages, no doubt they probably are not original, considering i can't find anything out there like it, but the pedal even looks the same as the 105 just says 600 instead
