english freewheel/italian hub
I understand this will work but no switching back...what about changing w/ another english freewheel? Or does repeated mounting and removing cause more thread damage?

It will work and there is going back, but it is not advisable to routinely switch between the two. Here is the Sheldon Brown info https://sheldonbrown.com/freewheels.html#threading. When you thread a freewheel with British threads onto a hub with Italian threads, you are changing the thread pitch; in doing so if you R&R with another freewheel with British threads will do little to nothing to change the threading anymore. If you attempt this, do so as if the freewheel is a die re-threading the hub; go slow, use oil and reverse the process occasionally to add more oil.

It's fine. You can install and remove as many English threaded freewheels as you want, just don't bother with the Italian threaded freewheels anymore.

The original Ofmega hub and Regina America freewheel of my Bianchi are Italian threaded, as I discovered when I started to screw on a Japanese freewheel. With the amount of resistance I encountered early on, I decided to keep this wheel Italian.
