Please help me identify this Raleigh
Hi! Iīm new here. Searching for classic raleigh and this forum came up.
Image is from an ad and not very informative. Been searching the web and it looks a bit like a raleigh sport but rear light doesnīt fit (maybe changed) and the pump position isnīt right either.
Anyone who knows?

Hi Vargen. You're right, it doesn't look like a Sports.
With the wrap-around seat stay and Bronze green color, it may be a '67 or '68 5-speed Sprite.
What is the wheel size?

Apart from the horrible seat cover it looks like a decent bike. The rear light is almost certainly a later replacement. I'd get rid of the seat cover, remove the rack, replace the rear light with something more appropriate and ride it.

Thanks! Iīm not sure about the wheel size but the ad says 3 speed. Forgot to mention that in the first post. Price is approx. $45 so I guess itīs a good deal. I will definitely change the seat cover, maybe even the saddle.

That's an odd duck. Sorta like someone took an old Record or something and and old Sports or something and put them together.
$45 is a good deal, whatever it is.

It does look like it has two downtube shifters on it, whcih would point to it being a 5 speed Sprite with the Sturmey Archer S5 5 speed hub. If this is the case, the rear hub by itself is worth at least double the asking price.
