odd old Raleigh, help to identify please
ladies blue spots frame serial no on bottom bracket :516299 z ( so not Raleigh ?)
what i think is the remains of a calton decal on the front,
bayliss whiley freewheel single speed hub, reviersable with a fixed gear on the other side,
all steel wheels with every spoke stamped with a r on the end,
raleigh birds front cog ( not sure what its called),
raleigh rubber block peddles ,
two tone saddle to match paint,
color mached brack cables,
white mudguards the only bit i dont think original though they are old
hokey stick chain gard white, black on the inside.
is all lovely and clean and put back together now but it would be nice to give it a age, thinking late 50's, or did my granddad put it together form a pile of bits ?

The Raleigh "birds" are Herons.
Pictures are going to be a necessity. But it does sound like something from the 1950's.

Photo from the drive (chain) side would be a lot more helpful.
Non-driveside photos are about as helpful as a photo of a car from the rear or from above.

Those flip flop hubs are pretty cool. The R on the spokes actually probably stands for Robergel, a famous french spoke maker. Calton badge or Carlton badge? A Carlton badged bike with a flip flop wheel might be more interesting than what we usually get around here.
