This year's Ann Arbor Class Bike Show and Swap Meet - Thanks to all!
Thank's to all who had suggestions for a first time vendor (me) at this year's Ann Arbor Bike Show and Swap Meet. Everything went great. We were inside and set up before the rain hit, the people were nice, and the bikes were great. I had many enjoyable conversations with several people. As my wife said and I quote, "I had no idea so many people were interested in bicycles." The biggest surprise for me was the number of vendors who "traveled the bike show circuit". Watching them unload a dozen or more bicycles was totally unexpected. Personally, I sold about 3/4 of what I brought along including three complete bikes and a frameset. I priced things to sell and did they ever. I also took some time to visit other vendors and, although it was hard, I resisted all temptation to buy. I'm really trying to "size down" insofar as this crazy hobby is concerned. I'm now down to only 3 bikes! I doubt that I'll ever return as a vendor, but as a buyer? Well, who knows?
