Caught in the wild!

C&V members at their finest.

Nobody ever takes a pic when you do something cool like jumping the curb or railroad tracks.

Jeez Aaron, that bike is huge.

Does the city hit you up for a value added or road use tax?

They sure as heck would nail you here.

Hah, talk about guilt!

I'm supposed to be raking right now.

I'm 15 miles out on a ride and I'll be lucky to be home before dark.

They do of the wreckage.

Best thing in the photo: the pocketbook. Even though it doesn't match anything.

The ordinary is the one behind the lady in the white shirt.

Bikes: roadsters, club bikes, fixed and classic

I'd feel like Goldilocks choosing which Brooks saddle is just right.

Bikes: 81 Ross T.K., 89 Merlin mtn.

I swear that guy changing the front tube once showed me a tube with probably 200 patches on it, said he had it since he was 15 or something, I always think about that when I read threads were people are afraid to use patches!

Ha! Nobody recognized me! BTW, Eben gave me great instructions for patching tires along with his autograph, since my repair didn't hold up. In my defense, I've never tried to repair a tube without removing it from the bicycle.

Actually, we were trying to jump a curb. Can you say snakebite?

So make with the ride report, already! Dallas? Aaron? Curtis? We are waiting...

The Snob threatens to write about it Monday. You don't have much time for pre-emptive damage control.

Bikes: Two wheeled ones

Ok - here's the deal - the lady in white is my wife. Curtis is a friend and far more skilled at patching a tube. I would have removed the wheels. We were riding nicely, all was fine, when we reached the art museum...Dallas advised not going for the curb, I didn't think it was a big deal and the MASH scene above was the result. Curtis patched it up with the wheels attached and we were on our way.

Bikesnob (and everyone else) was very gracious about it; the rest of the ride was uneventful and fun. We did build some pretty good speed at a few points and Dallas got to experience urban cycling at it's finest.

So - I misjudged the curb and double flatted. We've taken this over worse than that, but probably not with three before. So - even though it was my fault - I blame Dallas

Always wise to bring a mechanic on any ride.

I hate getting my hands dirty.

Bikes: Many

You can blame the closest person to the offending tire anytime before the flat took place. It could have been someone you had passed on the sidewalk. They need not be on the bike.

I rode yesterday too. It was yummy.
