Favorite era for vintage bikes is mid 80's to early 90's, the era before everything went to hard riding aluminum alloy. Love those double butted, chromoly steel frames.
Best era for me is the 70's.

I still have my mother's old Argus C-3 from the '50s, and when I was on the yearbook staff in high school as a photographer, I had picked up an old Praktica SLR that was stamped "Made in E Germany under USSR occupation" on the underside of the lens mount (same screw-mount lenses as Pentax). I'd grab the 85-205 zoom from my dad's camera bag and take candid photos at school.

A neat feature was the viewfinder - there was no sighting prism, so you'd look down onto a screen - which made for great 'stealth' when taking candid shots since I didn't have the camera up to my face.

Or for fast-action, you could flip up the door on the viewfinder cover and 'sight' through it.

That camera served me well for many years. I sold it to a collector a few years ago...

Well, if you want to talk aircraft, my favorite era is the "golden age" of aviation. I've always dreamed of owning a biplane, preferably a Waco or a Stearman. I've flown a 1929 Travelair, which was originally a mail plane, and done some really fun aerobatics in a Stearman. To me, this is man's greatest invention.

This is a Stearman:

I agree! I love the looks of biplanes and those radial engines with the wind in your hair, there was something cool about all of it. That's why I loved flying ultralights.

Next to Aixaix's 275 berlinetta, that M6 is maybe the coolest car ever built, IMO.
Or, one of them.
Sorry, but in my eyes it's ugly. I like cars like the Cobra AC, the flowing body lines are simply out of this world, it's why I bought an MGA long time ago. But that Mclaren is just over cooked almost cartoonish in appearance. Just because a car is rare or it can go fast or is vintage doesn't make it attractive too me, it has to look good to me first, then rarity, vintage and speed comes into play. I don't like the looks of Corvettes either since 1983 onward! Their just ugly. I also think the winged Dodge/Plymouth Superbird with the nosecone nose was butt ugly too! My friend with the now 24 car collection owns one of those Superbirds and he thinks its funny I find that car ugly. The Delorean was another ugly car, on top of that car had no purpose, it wasn't fast, and it used crappy mechanicals.

It's just my personal taste, it doesn't mean anything.
