+1 Personally, I don't like Biopace, so I swapped out the crankset on the 1988 Schwinn Voyageur I acquired a few years ago. I tried it for a while, just didn't like the feel.

38 is only available in 110BCD.
There is a steel 40t that was on a low-end Exage crankset in 130BCD. That's the smallest 130 that Shimano made.

Bikes: '86 Moots Mountaineer, '94 Salsa Ala Carte, '94 S-Works FSR, 1983 Trek 600 & 620

If memory serves, here is the BioPace lineup:

74mm BCD: 26t, 28t

110mm BCD: 36t, 38t, 44t, 46t, 48t, 50t

130mm BCD: 40t (OEM), 42t, 52t, 53t

Pretty much what I remember as well.
FWIW, I'm a Biopace fan and think they help old, bad knees on hills.
