Bikes: A bunch of old steel bikes + an ICE trike

Classic bicycle trivia

I have always appreciated the connections between seemingly diverse things so I thought I might post a puzzler. I happened to catch this movie on TV a few weeks ago and I recollected that it had a connection to cycling. Anyone want to take a stab at it?

Hint: It's not a bad movie, but watching it will not help you find the answer.

Good alternative right answer I did not expect.

My answer is this: Shaw's regiment included an officer by the name of George Pope. After the war, George became a business partner with his cousin, Albert Pope who, as everybody knows, was the founder of the Columbia bike company.

i didn't look at the movie link before i scrolled through the responses.
weirrrrrrrrrrd things happen when i do that.

i read the reference to shaw and flashed to 'lawrence of arabia'. lawrence used
shaw as an alias after the war and i couldn't think of any bicycles in the film, nor
references to any. he did ride a motorbike after the war, though. then i wondered who
mb might be.

thought i was losing my mind and then clicked on the link.

oh.

what a maroon!
