nope. a good friend of mine did. he's a leather artisan.
this was kinda prototype. he also restore/reconditioned a '60's Agda saddle for me.
the only prob with the hoods is that it's bonded to the lever. a true one-off.
in discussion with him on detachable/resuable hoods for the next projects, in fact.
will be adding more custom leather stuff in collaboration w him going forward—only where appropriate.
:)

Very nice! Can you tell us more about your Bianchi?

1950s Bianchi Sport bike. Basically a city bike with 3 speeds and condorino bars. Makes a Varsity feel like a lightweight.

Neat. I've got to try to make a set of those, a'la that guy in Japan who does such nice work, or these.
Just need to find a piece of the proper leather. You say, "bonded to the lever". You mean, they are glued on?

I mounted a Madonna Del Ghisallo medallion on this Fiamme Stem. I think it's a pretty cool detail...

Hmmm, really? You think Campagnolo did that for Somec?

No I guess I'm wrong about that. I just now noticed the Campy logo after going back and looking. I'm thinking CNC.

Nice little Suntour Superbe RD as pictured just above.

Not my stuff but I used to have them on my 970 Trek Road Bike when I still owned it.

How about these Curtis Odom Holey's on the Jack Taylor.

Drillium Dude 08-04-13 04:53 AM

That red Flite is a first for me - very pretty!

Matt: love the Madonna del Ghisallo medalion - can you remind me where you got it once more? Thanks!

Whoa. Can we please some better pics? Of both the hubs, and the bike? Thx.

Curtis' work blows me mind.

yes, his work is awesome. I follow him on facebook just to have a steady stream of pretty pictures between all the nonsensical posts. Luckily he's buddies with an amazing photographer that really brings his creations to light.

rootboy 08-04-13 05:52 AM

I dabble with metal. Curtis is an artist with it.

Drillium Dude 08-04-13 06:10 AM

I understand Curtis is thinking about making a stopwatch holder; looks like it will be a resin/composite and metal design. I'm signing up if he puts it into production.
