Ok, so no money for me. I picked up my Moultons, and they're ok. The three speed is useable right-now, but the rack is broken off it, and it's untidy (patinated!). The single speed is tattier, but the frame is intact, however the freewheel is blown. This is not the problem. I get the home, start unloading them from the car, and the missus says "Oh, they're cute! Can we keep one?". Then she rides the 3 speed up the road and back, declares she's in love with it, and says "Go on, let's keep both!". I'm sure wives and girlfriends are supposed to nag you to get rid of them?
Anyhow, we're gonna shine up the 3 speed, and use it as is, and the single is gonna be, shall we say, upgraded? I'm pondering the possibility of a derailleur at the back, though on a 14" wheel, it might be tricky, and the rear would need to be respaced, and, and, and.......
So my other idea is, a set of black mag wheels of a kids bike, respray the frame black, alloy stem, MTB bars with bar ends, longer seat post (too small for me even at max extension), some sort of nifty saddle, clips and straps. Maybe I'll even fix it......
Photos the very instant I get round to it.

So, here are my Moultons, and for good measure, the Gazelle Trim Trophy I scooped on ebay for about $50 a few weeks ago.
The gold Moulton is destined for my g/f, and doesn't need much more than a clean up and a shine. Might straighten out the mudguards, and get rid of any rust. Sadly the luggage carrier is gone, but other than that, it's fully functional, and everyone has been enjoying riding it (me, g/f, my 8 y/o son, and all of his neighbourhood mates - they all think it's cool). The red Moulton is going to be for me. I'm thinking resprayed black, taller stem and seatpost (I'm 6'3), MTB bars with bar ends, clips and straps, and perhaps a set of black mag wheels of a kids bike for good measure.
The Gazelle is now my daily rider, and I've put a couple of hundred miles on it in the last few weeks. 531, Weinmann brakes, 700x20 wheels, Shimano 105 rear, and Exage 300 EX front mechs. I love it.

Hmm. Thought you'd actually be able to see those pictures....
And in fact, when I click through, they're tiny. Here's a link for the albums.

Well not a big score (well it kinda is for me, single speed cruisers with coaster brakes are getting harder and harder to find these days), I found this old ladies cruiser at a garage sale for $10 bucks, seventies ish I'd guess, probably one of the very first canadian tire supercycles, yipee!

Love the bars on that Canadian ladies bike! Can someone who knows their stuff PM me the n00bs guide to posting pictures properly, so I do a better job of contributing here?

I picked up a '75 Motobecane Mirage recently from a guy that works next door for a 6-pack of Bud longnecks! ($7 in these parts... better than drinking that swill) It's old, rusted and very French, but it seems to have a promising future as a fixie conversion, and I can use the old Huret parts and barcons for something else eventually (keeping the perfect wienmann/dia-compe brakes). It was sitting out in the rain for months 10 feet from where I park and I never noticed it! Now to get the damned cotters out and find a good wheelset to replace the crap 27" steelies... (sorry no pics, broke the digicam a few weeks back)

I found this in the trash on a ride last night, from december '75 according to the hub, womens raleigh 3 speed. I gave it to my sister/mom to share between em selves seeing that I only ride single speed bikes with coaster brakes!

Well here's my latest entry for "The Catch of the Day" A Fuji "Allegro" mixte. All Suntour Components, Ukai rims with Sunshine hubs. Tires are like brand new. Looks like they let it sit outside because there is some rust but nothing that won't come out with some Simichrome and maybe a dab of Naval Jelly. Frame is nice nad made of Fuji Valite 411 tubing. Bars needed the most work and all cables and housings. Should clean up nicely and the on to the San Jose State college girls. Cost: $15 from Goodwill. FYI, I passed on the Motobecane mixte they had. She wouldn't go down from $50 and it needed a lot of work.

And here is a ladies model CCM (possibly a rambler?) which I picked up for $20 (technically $40 since I lost $20 on the way home from the bank, which sucks, but what are you gonna do?
This one is from 1950 according to a CCM serial number chart I came across (which makes it my oldest bike so far). Has monster 28" tires, matching colored rims with pinstriping too. the front forks are bend in a bit though sadly.. I'll have to do my best bending that back without wrecking it furthur. Anyone have any tips for doing such a thing?
#814
Looks like the fork was bent by running into something. I've straightened these with this home-made tool. It's a small jack mounted on a piece of 2x4 with a couple of angle brackets. Put the slot of the 2x4 just above the bottom bracket and jack against an old spindle or piece of threaded rod in the fork. You'll have to go a bit past where you want it because it springs back.

No pics, yet, but Saturday at a garage sale, I bought a complete, functional '83 Le Tour for $8.00 and a pair of "Brev. Campagnolo" double ring 175mm cranks for $5.00.

Nothing amazing, but cheap (15$ for both) and I can resell them; 58 cm Lotus Prestige and a 49 cm Miyata 210.

Just picked up a Schwinn Prologue... all Shimano 600. I paid more than I usually would, but I wanted the group for something else, and it looks to be in very good condition... Can anyone tell me about the Prologue? Seems like a nice frame; Tange Prestige...

It's red and white, with most of the main triangle and the stays being red, with a fade to white at the fork and at the saddle.
Man, this rain just won't quiT! So still no pictures for now... my cheapo camera just doesn't do well indoors!
