I coulda probably shoulda had a catch today, I went to a thrift store and spotted a ladies raleigh LTD-3 3sp, dark blue, it was only 7.99$ too actually, which is very cheap for that thrift store which rarely even has bikes. I didnt buy it cause it was a ladies bike. Ok I didnt buy it cause it was a ladies bike and I was too far to feel like bringing it home via bicycle, plus I wouldnt have much use for it having a ton of other bikes to ride as it is!

this English built Raleigh Super Course was out behind a local shop the other day... I grabbed (with permission) it and it went to a tall guy that needs a project to keep him off the streets...

I got a Brooks Champion Special today for $15. Now if only I could figure out what to do with the crappy Miyata it was stuck to.

maybe not the best forum to post this in, but I gotta brag about it somewhere. I picked up a brand new SLR xp for $30 from a bike shop that sells mostly choppers and MTBs.

I asked him the price, and he said $30 because he was getting rid of his road stuff.

Oh I fixed this blue single speed! I hammered on a left crank arm from an eatons glider (a tad too small for the crank axle.. so I had to really hammer it in there, sure I wont be able to remove it likely but who cares!) I also discovered the rear hub was screwed so I put on a diff rear rim, she now features mis-matched crank arms (mis matched lengths too!), pedals, wheels, rims! And shes a great ride, and the fenders have a beautiful rattle sound!

Bikes: Schwinn, Cinelli, Eddy Merckx

This frame was found from pure luck in e-bay a couple months ago. The title of the listing has a typo that says "Track Bike Schwinn Parmount" frame and fork only. The pictures on the listing were scanned from photo, which did not say very much on the detail of the frame.

When it arrived from Ohio to San Francisco. I could not believe how clean it is. It look like the previous owner took a very good care of it. All the serial numbers of the frame and Nervex are still intact and clearly stamped. Surface oxidation and rust were wiped off easily with Nervdull. Also the seller was kind enough to threw in a pair of campy SR sewup wheelsets, campy headset, sake bull horn handlebar, durace track pedals, durace track bb.

I am not sure about the fork but it had campy drop. It's definitely not Paramount.

Got this Bianchi from a guy today during lunch. It's nothing special, just a Sport SX with low end components (and Biopace chainrings! ), but it rides amazingly well! It feels like the bike was probably hardly ever ridden at all.

Bikes: 1972 Columbia Tourist Expert III, Columbia Roadster

I found a ten speed hodaka in excellent condition today. It's a girl's bike but it was cheap so I couldn't resist.

I've heard of hodaka motorcycle, but have never seen a hodaka bicycle before. Anybody know anything about these?

Bikes: Crap. The box is not big enough...

Yeah, they capitalized on the bike boom in the '70's, just like everyone else. By the way, look around. See the grin on your shop owner's face? Swami Luker sez that we are starting into another bike boom. You heard it here first!

I always wanted a hodaka...wasn't their studly trail bike called a Combat Wombat?

Bikes: Techna Wheelchair and a Sun EZ 3 Recumbent Trike

I just picked up a Raleigh!

Late 80's, $20.00 in a yard sale, immaculate paint. Freewheel is a bit stiff from years of storage is the only thing wrong with it! A little TLC at the LBS and I'll have it Thursday and riding it! By the way, can anyone tell me anything about it? It's unfortunately a Taiwanese Raleigh. Schimano Group, friction shifters on the stem, 531 alloy frame, lugged construction. It's a sweet bike and near as I could tell, will ride sweetly! Raleigh USA is the listed manufacturer. Diacompe Brakes, looks like Weinmann rims and Schimano hubs. I'll post a pic when I get it home Thursday!

Found a half a bridgestone mtb-1 dumped in the rabish, without wheels, cranks, seat and seatpost, but the frame is ok (bit too big for me, 52), but there were together bull horns handlebar for mountain bicycle, and shifter Deore xt that work by friction!

Here is a catch that I missed...

Superbe Pro wheelset

Am I missing something here? I would have thought these were an easy $200. Sure they aren't perfect, but that is still a very nice wheelset.

They are. Actually I mis-labelled the auction. Those were original style Superbe hubs, not Superbe Pro.

I am not sure I posted this when I bought it but I got a 531 racing USA raleigh and a set of superbe pro wheels laced to araya aero tubulars of 78 bucks! I didn't know those wheels are worth that much. cartridge bearings to boot!
