Yes, I spent an unsuccessful hour last night searching for an OEM stem shim that came on my Cilo Pacer. I know it's in the garage somewhere...

I have three concurrent projects going on at the moment, and one bucket with oxalic acid for all the small rusty bits. It's a constant challenge trying to keep all the little bits & bobs straight.

My wife also thinks I'm an idiot because I can never find anything in the refrigerator/pantry, though it's usually right in front of my eyes.

that's a quote from somewhere, but I forget!
One place it comes from is: "Something Wicked This Way Comes" by Ray Bradbury. I recently re-read it.

Missing tools, missing bike parts and missing bottles of Royal Crown they all show up when I'm not really looking for them. I lost my keys to my Mustang once and found them in back seat of the car a few days later. To this day I have no idea how they got back there.

Good news! I found the shorts on the tool shelf, between the cans of paint and the helmets. Oddly, there was also pair of socks, a 600 rd, various cone wrenches, and a 45 tooth TA chain ring. I put all that other stuff back and am sure it will be gone by morning.

Currently I remember an ISIS socket and a spoke wrench. I forgot most of the other stuff that is missing. I misplaced a bag of chainring bolts and a bag of 28.6 braze-on adapters that I found recently.

When Nashbar had a sale on measuring tapes (english and metric) I bought enough for the office, garage, kitchen, workroom, and both cars. I wander into rooms - usually on auto pilot, then wonder why I headed there.

My son found a couple hundred dollar bills in my old chemistry CRC manual that I must of hid (computer money at the time, not bike money) years ago. I had to bribe him not to rat me out to Mom.

There was a silver lining but I keep forgetting it.
