Could this be? Gios content...

here's some background information. I had obtained this frame from a previous racer who used this to train on. It is extremely light. He had repainted the frame, not sure if the fork was a rechrome or in really good condition. I did some research on Gios stuff and came up with this picture. At the same time i acquired a Gios Super record frame as well, one with the fork crowns in the fork:

I believe mine could be the same version pre gios putting fork crowns in their super record model. I made this assumption based on the fact that the fork crown is the same, the lugs, drilled drop out and top tube cable guide.

what do you guys think?

The frame has similarities to the super record you posted. Does the repainted frame take nutted brakes? One thing I also noticed was the water bottle bosses on the seat tube. My super record (era with the coins on fork crown) has only one set on the downtube.

edit: How does the bb shell look like? Does it have the GT cutout?

The fork crown, rear dropout treatment and seatstay caps are all consistent with Gios. I agree that the "Gt" cutout in the bb shell would clinch it, but the absence of that cutout would not be enough to disqualify it, IMO. It's got enough cues to say with some confidence that it is a Gios.

Gios made a Super Record replice in a batch of one hundred in 1993. They didn't have theGT cutout the BB. You can ask Mario fo help on the Gios website but be prepared for somebizare repliesn Ed

Looks like a Gios as shown. The earlier bikes did not use a bottom bracket shell with the GT decorative windows. They used big slots. Also some had +GF+ shells with generous main tube socket windows.
Lots of images were presented, but no under the BB view.
