What is this bicycle?

I rather like the look of this bike; what is it though?

Bikes: Giant Excursion, Raleigh Sports, Raleigh R.S.W. Compact, Motobecane? and about 20 more! OMG

Got any more pictures? It looks like a "city bike" the chain ring is going to be a clue to the manufacturer. It has a French look to it, and it may have 650B wheels. Also looks vintage, 1970's? It wouldn't be too hard to duplicate with all the boutique parts available today from places like Velo-Orange, Soma Fab or quite a few other places.

Right, I'd love a vintage looking bike to tool around on but all the new bikes I see tend to have a hybrid look to them. That's the only pic I have, it was posted on a Facebook page and my question there went unanswered.

looks like an bit older Raleigh. The raleigh classic roadster has a similar look. You may want to post in the classic and vintage to see if anyone there has an idea but it may not be old enough to be a vintage bike.

Build your own. the frame does look a bit like a vintage Raleigh (I have several of them).

The chain wheel is bugging me, I have seen that design somewhere but can't place it. Unfortunately the low res picture doesn't help much.

Run searches for Porteur Bikes, City Bikes, and possibly Randonneur. All are similar type bikes. I have seen touring bikes with a similar build too.
