Turtle Wax Chrome Polish
BUY IT! Only two bucks, just add elbow grease, and you get a lustrous shine that'll blind everyone on their fancy-pants dull-a$$ carbon frames!

I think "fancy-pants" is my favourite adjective.

It should work if it's chromed. Otherwise, steel wool and maybe a little citrus cleaner (dilluted). The polish won't damage the derailleur (I haven't found), but you just might not get a great shine out of it.

Wrights Silver Cream works well on aluminum alloy parts that are nonbrushed/polishable. Just use a lightly dampened cloth and start rubbing.
