1986 Lotus Legend in Pearl Coral Tange Champion No.1 and No. 2 tubing. Bought it from an ad found in the classifieds forum a few weeks ago. Came with full Shimano 600 that I upgraded to a combination of Dura-Ace 7700 and 7800 running on hand-built tubulars by yours truly. The long-ish wheelbase makes for a stable and predictable ride while the No.1 and No. 2 tubing allow for great road feel.

back with an update on my ~1984 lotus classique. loving the bike and take it around locally. my area is super hilly so i wish i had a third chainring but it's fine. the upright handle bars i put on it are amazing - all my weight is on the seat as i ride and it's still such a super fast bike. doing daddy duty as below. love filling up the trailer with snacks + cooler with water + kids scooters, basketballs, etc etc and just riding to local parks.
sharing and hoping you guys are all doing well!!

I have not not heard of this model, but looking at the pic you uploaded I see some features that point to this being a lower end bike (stem shifters, swaged crank, claw mounted RD). I would try riding it before putting any money into it. It could be a good rider for you, but you will not recover costs when you sell it.

1987 Lotus Legend Tri
Was sad to see that the Lotus bike website is now inactive....
The attached PDF was the spotlight Tim did on my 1987 Legend. Bought it at a funky Buffalo, NY bike shop in 2011 for $100. I was looking for a basic commuter bike as I didn't want my good bike stolen. When I got home, I looked closer and realized that this was a quality bike.... Needless to say, I had to buy another "beater bike" cause I was worried this new one would be stolen.... Anyway, still have it and it rides beautifully.
