Weinmann Vainqueur 610/999 (centerpulls) vs. Dia Compe G (sidepulls)

I've got a set of red label Weinmann Vainqueur 610/999 brakes that may be freed up in the near future, and I was wondering if anyone had any practical experience as to how they compared to Dia Compe G brakes.

Brake pad material and rim surface are big factors to concider. I would think center pulls would have an edge.

I've used them both, but never done a side-by-side comparison.

That said I always thought the Wenimann centerpull were pretty good, and the side pulls not as strong. There doesn't seem to be much difference between the various single pivot side pull brakes from Weinmann and Dia-Compe, though the shorter ones flex less. The important thing is the distance between the pivot and the brake shoe, and this is shortest on the centerpull design.

Still, I like to be period correct. Centerpull brakes were popular mid sixties to mid eighties, and to my eye don't look right on bikes from other eras.
