I have a 1930's joco frame in great nick which I'll be working on this year.
A guy in holland, Herbert Kuner, has helped a lot with dating it and giving me some history but what I need now is a feel for these bikes, colours, decals and kit etc etc
If anyone has a joco or even just some images please post.
My feel is I won't be able to go back to original group sets etc and will end up with a campy groupset.....

Looks very cool, almost looks like it has a ceramic coating.

It's currently got a great quality paint job but it doesn't feel close enough to original so it'll be painted again......I think........but I'm not sure yet because it is a cool looking colour.

I coincidentally found myself a Joco bike recently which I am working on to 'restore'.
A much later example, i think late 60's, coming from a Hilversum estate.

There have been made some changes to the original specs but I will at least keep the Mafac brakes and Titan post for sure and have found a nice Titan stem and Maes barset.

I met the very nice mister Kuner once by the way and got this little Joco brochure from 1937.

It contains a list of all the different items the shop had in store.
I will try to make a nice set of pics for you so you know with wich cmponents your bike could be fitted :D
I am sure it wil be extremely nice but virtually impossible to restore it to original specs.

Nice find! You should post this in the 'Dutch Invasion'-thread. There are some folks there who know a great deal about Joco who can help you finding original colours and spec. Btw back in those days there was no such thing as a complete group set. So maybe you're able to find and fit components that look the part...

Already picking up some good info. Btw pullup, your joco looks like a nice classic bike, the decals look nice and simple. Is it reynolds tubing?
i note that pretty much every joco I have seen has solid colours with nice lug detailing, although this may be aftermarket custom work.
olympic rings also feature a lot, Titan and mafac look to be quite common also (thanks pullup)

any my more joco info or detail would be great, cheers all.

No, way too small. I think it came up for sale a while back. Kept the pic for my files, just as a point of reference for when something like this shows up in 61-63 cm ...

It is a beautiful frame and I seem to remember some more Joco's with that kind of paintscheme.

This one is on marktplaats right now but it was quickly reserved.

ah, ok. I must have missed it while it was listed, it's a nice size for me :)

Bugger, can't see non fixes image, the orange frame looks more like what imagined a joco to look like, nice solid colour, Olympic Rings (easy to source), tubing/lug decal (possibly reynolds and again, easy to source) and a joco decal.......sourcing one of these will be my biggest challenge.

This frame is from the '30s? Looks much later to me.

Actually there is a guy on Marktplaats right now who has different Joco decals on sale at the moment.

is it a Dutch buy/sell site?, May need some help with translation.
i have looked and the joco text along with the joco seat tube badge look nice and subtle.

colonel, it does seem to be in good nick for its age but the lugs and the frame number (31315) date it between 1936 and 1937

Maybe not, doesn't really mean too much to me to be truthful.
the frame number dates it at a certain point in time, the lugs may, or may not.
regardless, with some time and effort it will be a lovely bike.

Hi all
Small update, thanks to non fixies outstanding help and guidance I have now sourced some original decals, along with H Lloyds help over here in the UK I now have joco decals, a full set of Olympic Rings, the correct reynolds decal and a small Dutch flag which I'll discretely place as appropriate before the frame is lacquered.
i was at a large bike jumble this week trying to source a set of titan bars and stem but was unable to find some so will probably go with a milremo sport stem and old cinelli bars.
as I plan to put some decent miles in on this bike I'll probably go with an older campag groupset, not sure on the rims but I did manage to pick up a really nice set of maillard hubs from a work colleague so that's something I'll have to research.
The frame will be prepped for paint next month so pic cites on their way as and when

I have seen this Ronde van Europa in the same paintjob from a CV dealer of whom i have bought one of the most beautiful '60s bikes. That particular bike is in concourse condition with all chromed out parts. I asked him to make some pictures of that bike. I dont like to use these kind of words too much but that bike is plain and simple bike porn.

I have some work to do on the frame so it needs to be re sprayed with the correct decals, I can't be 100% on the model so I'll be leaving it quite simple.

Hi all
Quick update on the joco resto.
frame has now been restored and sprayed up with original decals, pick it up next week.
have sourced nuovo record cranks, bb, headset, derailleur, post, hubs, brake levers and dt shifters. Mavic rims, milremo stem, gb drops and a brooks saddle (although I might use a San Marco/selle saddle)
at a bike jumble tomorrow looking for calipers and pedals, then it's the build.

ill post piccies as soon as I get the frame back.
