Exactly, I don't recall seeing "trois" instead of "3" either.

That one might be worth saving, CMAW. Do you own the bike? If so, I might recommend taking some good pics of that decal.
For posterity's sake.

Bikes: '73 Raleigh RRA, 1986 Trek 500 commuter

Had forgotten to post the pics I had of the originals from my '73 RRA.

Camera was malfunctioning, hence the pink splotches. I've since replaced the decals with repros.

Somewhat rare - possible one year only...I think.

Here is one from my 1974 Bernard Carré.

Notice this decal has the gold bar but does not have the "TI" before "REYNOLDS". Also says "TUBE CO. LTD." instead of "LIMITED". Lastly, there is no "®" after the "531".

Not seen one exactly like this yet.

70 hugs from all of us French bike lovers if you post pictures of this bike in the "show us yr French bike" thread (or any other of your choice)

I have a Moto Grand Jubilee with a badly damaged and missing Reynolds sticker. I would appreciate if someone could direct me to a source for a correct replacement sticker. Thanks!

Here's a good place to start.

Bikes: Yes

The particular deterioration patterns of Reynolds decals fascinates me.

I tried to preserve these when I painted over some new braze-ons, but I stupidly put the masking tape directly on the decal. This is the state before I did that.

I wish I had a better picture of this, the "3 Tubes" decal from my 1975 Motobecane Grand Jubilé. It's gone now, but the lettering seemed more yellow than the reproductions.

This one, from a 1983 Trek, feels like a fake. It's too well preserved.

I've been told that this one is probably a reproduction, but the only other decal on the bike appeared to be original, as was most of the paint.

The rather ragged original example from my Motobecane Grand Record, now replaced with a replica after repainting

Not much left

1975 Motobecane Grand Record, probably clear coat it, not much chance of me wanting to repaint or restore the bike, but I love the way it rides, goes most anywhere. I believe 531 J in French, very available.

Rack for Ostrich is still a work in progress

Until the early 80s, Reynolds decals were multi-layer decals, with each color a separate layer.

I think that is original, as the only repros of that particular style of 531 decal I have found are missing a small detail: the "Birmingham England" in small writing under the TI Reynolds.

Here's the original on my own 83 600:

And here is the repro I used (sorry its not properly head on but bike is in storage right now and its bloody cold outside, but you can see the missing address line). Also the repro was just slightly larger than the original.

I dug up this thread because I just got a Peugeot with these same decals and I was hoping to figure out what it means. Can any of our French speakers or Reynolds 531 experts shed some light on this? Near as I can tell (from Google Translate), the main tubing decal is saying "three tubes butted, bases and rising" which sounds to me like it is saying the main tubes are butted Reynolds 531 and the stays are non-butted but still Reynolds 531? I guess that makes sense but it seems like an awful lot of detail to provide. Are the stays ever butted? And then there's the fork decal. What does the "S.O" mean?

The Cyclomondo repro of that decal has the “Birmingham England” text.

I’m working on an ‘82 613 at the moment and mine is totally illegible, thanks for showing me what it should look like.
