I've been doing some searching, but not coming up with what I'm looking for. if you have a steel frame with internal cable routing, could you post of picture of the holes. don't ask why, i'm just curious...for now. thanks.

I never know what is in focus until I post it! Need to go back and get it right!

Some beautiful examples HERE. Scroll down to post no. 6 and go from there. I like a 5 o'clock or 7 o'clock entry and exit to minimize the probability of water getting into the cable tube.

In the case of the Burley, the plastic ferrule of the case is a snug fit into the leader. I had to use a drill to "catch" the ferrule in order to pull it out. In the Burley case, the down tube is bent and part of the boob tube and open at the end. This is the only tube on the frame that acutally allows water to drain out if it gets in. When I turned it upside down when removing parts, about a 1/4 cup of water came out of the stoker ST!

I don't have a picture of my Miele, but it just has elongated holes in the steel tubing where you clip in the plastic guides.

Edit: I looked at the link, and the Miele's slots look just like the step 1 endmill slots.

I don't have any pictures without cables sticking out.

If i recall, the white bike cable routing has stops in the holes(no housing inside the tube). The holes are on top of the tube.

In the lug! I would tend to think this was an after thought/additon!

This raises a question for those who have the "in tube" routing. Do you prefer the routing with the housing terminating at the entrance/exit or having the housing run through the tube? Are there examples of in tube routing that don't have an "inner" routing tube? The Burley does not but the exit is huge!

Yes, plenty. But not having the in-tube guide is not usually an issue - just need a few tricks. ball-chain, or vacuum/air compressor with a string are among the methods used to set the path to get the cable & housing back out the exit hole. I had lots of fun with the Motta pictured above, though. The biggest issue was because I had chosen index shifting. I started off running a bare cable through the DT and chainstay, and the shifting constantly went out of adjustment. My final solution was to run housing inside the DT/CS, and this complicated the cable installation procedure.

I imagine it could be a challenge without the inner tube construction. What about housing termination? The Burley has it. Looks like they simply used a housing termination braze on, ID for housing OD at one end and cable size hole at the other.

Is the inner tube sized for cable or housing?

Nova has them, thanks. They even sell a kit with a brass tube and ferrells.
