Any talk of steroids in the NFL is non-sense. The truth is that "HGH is rampant"* since they don't test for it. (*Direct quote from A.J. Hawk on last week's podcast with Jay Mohr.) Both sides are probably equally guilty. Not to mention, if Peyton Manning was in MLB, he would not have been able to have the stem cell therapy for his neck.

Congrats to Seattle.

Therefore the 102 year old that set the hour record is on PEDs.

Oh man when I saw that all I said to my wife was, he's a 102yrs old and in better shape then I am lol. Maybe because I use Spacemanz's PED's too much  or not enough.

Anyway, I get now why you're a "Spaceman" :P

Well, we're fixin' to find out, today. The celebration parade is supposed to be around 10:00-ish, followed by a "moment of LOUDNESS" at 12:12. :D It was 26F when I got up, with the wind chill making it feel like the teens, but lots of folks were showing up downtown, to get a good spot. I'm only repeating what I saw on the news there, I've only been as far as the back deck, to smoke. So yes, I'll roll a few more, finish dressing (the news dude said just put on everything you own), and ride down there. That way, if any of them actually looked my way, I could throw them a doob. :D

I envy you guys - don't forget to take your camera along with the doobs :)

...and share your pics here if you get them. That goes for any other fans lucky enough to attend this event.

Sorry for the long delay. No pics from me, I did try a few, but it was just too durn-it cold out & the crowds were too feisty for me. Remember, I have a bum knee, so it's just not smart to get into "that" kind of situation. ;) I ended up hitting a few thrift stores, & picked up a nice Salomon jacket & some military-issue nylon exercise pants (well-insulated & waterproof). I'm not proud, I'll run the washing machine. ;) It's 27F today, starting out about the same as yesterday, but it's supposed to warm up pretty decent over the weekend. :) I guess I'll just hunker down, & continue testing things that need testing. :D

I was encouraged by my boss to attend the parade. So, I took my oldest son who just turned 18 on Monday (nice birthday present for him) and a 20 yr old guy that is also living with us. Our office was right on the parade route and we pulled into the parking garage a little after 9 am. Start time was supposed to be 11 am but they didn't really get going until closer to noon. Stood for 3 hrs in the cold - and it was definitely cold - mid-20's F with a breeze. It was all worth it as the parade got closer and the buzz really started in the crowd. Then the noise just exploded. Defintely a ton of fun. I was too young when the last major championship (1979) parade happened and lived too far away. Still glad I went. The star of the show - Marshawn Lynch, in my book.

Now that Seattle has a championship can they rally around that and stop it with the 12th man thing?

Nope. Sorry :)

Haters gonna hate. Seahawks fans don't care and aren't going to apologize for supporting their team in their own special way. It is what it is :)

The crowd was nothing like anyone had ever seen. I never knew how many people were standing behind us until I saw that third photo which was from the Spokane paper. Too bad you weren't here - nothing like these fans.

Congrats to Vikings West on your first ring! I hope we can get one during my lifetime. If we could poach any QB, I would pick Wilson. I think he's headed for the HOF.

The oddest thing about the Seahawks is the "And that's good for another Seahawks ... (silence)" announcements at the stadium. The crowd is supposed to yell "First down!" in unison, but hardly anybody does. It feels super awkward and like they couldn't come up with anything better.

this is all nice but i don't like American Football. can i start a hockey thread, or a soccer one? or will i get moved "to the Foo" which was the expectation of this this thread... i guess i should close my name now.

Yeah, that sounds way too choreographed - glad the fans aren't picking up on it. Bring back The Wave :)

Hahahaha. No way, Jose. It's an historical phenomenon that goes way back, even further back than 1989 and that silly "excessive fan noise" rule the NFL enforced briefly. A home team could get penalized 5 yards or a loss of time out if the fans got so loud the visiting offense couldn't communicate.

At that time, I was in the house band at a Seattle TV station and we made a music video to protest that travesty. (Warning: 80's hairstyles content) Those were the days my friend. Anyway, that's me on bass, sporting the scruffy little hipster chin beard. :)

This should be an internet thing. Great video.

I love it! I don't remember that video though.

I don't either, really. I only saw it once or twice in 1989 before it showed up on youtube a week or two ago. I'm sure it only aired on TV a few times. I have vague memories of seeing it in the editing booth, or maybe screened at the local emmy award parties, where each network affiliate had their house band play a set live in a battle of the bands competition. On our side we had Dick Foley (founding member of The Brothers Four, at that time an afternoon talk show host) he did one or two 'crooner' numbers with us, and Steve Pool, our local weatherman who also occasionally did guest weather spots on Good Morning America. Steve was a great dancer, and did a fantastic James Brown routine, complete with some impressive onstage calisthenics.

Great bunch of guys and gals, all around.
