@The Golden Boy

We've had some nice weather in Ohio recently. I've had the Tomii on several 10-15 miles short rides and one 35 mile ride. Maybe 100 miles total.

I set the bike up using Nao's build/fit sheet and it is perfect. He's really good. I have a bad lower back and some wrist issues and the Tomii seems to have helped my back by at least 50% (likely as good as I can hope for) and eliminated my wrist and elbow issues.

The bike soaks up rough roads as I expected. It is a bit more stiff than my Jamis Aurora . It is much better out of the saddle and climbing than the Jamis even though the chains stays are 46cm. The bike tracks nicely and I can ride hands free even with the front bag.

Drive train. I used a Shimano compatible White rear hub with an 11 speed IRD cassette. Campy Chorus brifters and Athena derailleurs. I'm glad I opted for the ultra-shift Chorus shifters, they are wonderful. The rear derailleur shifts the 12-36 perfectly.

I had Doug Hamilton, Oxford Bikewise, build the wheels. He did a great job and I expect no issues from the wheels.

I talked to Nao after my first ride, I told him it's kind of a happy and sad time. It was so much fun going through the process with him.

Next up is a city bike for my wife, it will be a curved DT step through inspired by English roadsters. More modern geometry.

Oh yeah, I did have one issue on the build. Totally my fault. You can see it in the pictures above. Anyone?

Cheers,
Scott

Incredible...simply incredible...wow...stunning...

Some things that I really like...

(1) The water bottle holders...perfect...

(2) The lights...more perfection...

(3) The pedals...

It is these smaller details that really make this bike stand out...at least to me...

From the pictures on the previous page which I will call "above", the only item I see needing attention would be aside from the bar wrap that was done would be trimming off the excess cables here and there, and soldiering them to insure no fraying.
Comes to mind as I poked myself on a frayed cable today on a bike I recently bought and have not addressed that issue yet. Darn those hurt.

The kickstand is a Copenhagen dual leg. I like it. The bike has a kickstand plate.
The cables have been trimmed etc.

Choice of low power generator hub?

Front caliper has the wrong mount. Compare the front to rear.
It vibrated like crazy. Took me a while to see it.
Nao designed the front fork to use a 160 rotor with a short mount. The rear is designed to use a 140 with the short mount (I used 160 on both).
So the front caliper uses a different mount than the rear even though I opted for big rotors front and rear.

Sometime I feel like an idiot when simple things throw me for a loop. hahahaha

I have a couple metric century rides for you to choose from. Get healthy and make a road trip to Ohio this summer. Hopefully your biggest problem will be choosing which bike :)

Wow, that is a beautiful bike. I'll have to think about Tomii for a bike.

Do it! You won't regret it!

Nao is the best atmo.
