Morning All. Looking for help in identifying a Pinarello passed to me by a friend whose father cannot ride anymore....
Its been used on a roller in a garage for the past few years. Bought and owned in Basque Country, N Spain. 55cm frame. Take a look at the pics and help me out please! Thankyou

Cheers and welcome to Bike Forums.

I'm moving this to Classic & Vintage Forum (from Introductions), where it might generate more replies.

I'm not a Pinarello expert, but I do think your BB pictures (lack of reinforcement & chainstay bridge), plus the TT cable routing, should help those in the know. So you've started off well, and welcome to BF. Is that headset a Mavic?

1994 Asolo

chromoly frame, some chrome on drive side chainstay and FD hanger.

The higher end Montello would have more chrome, investment cast bottom bracket and Columbus SLX steel.

Italian paintjobs and decals were fragile, hence the repaint on your bike.

Yeah, tell me about Pinarello quality paint and decals!

Your saddle looks like it wants to take off and fly away.

Yup. Thats the way it was when I purchased the bike. How anyone could ride it that way..... Maybe that is why I got it for less than $200.

I believe the appropriate phrase is "quick-release paint job."

Berangutan 04-05-14 04:18 AM
