At the top until Super Record came in in the early 70's, (which were only certain components). You can't go wrong with a bike originally specced for Nuovo Record.

Top of the line stuff. Lasts a long time. I'm still using most of a nuovo record group I bought in 1980. The parts that I'm not currently using aren't worn out, I just don't have a place to hang them.

Have you ever considered doing you own research on that inter-web thing?
Joining a well established cycling club and inter-acting w/ older members who used the kit is clearly out of the question.

Try this, it took < 12 seconds to "research":

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campagnolo

If posters took 10 seconds to do research, we couldn't show how smart we are by writing about old gear, right? By the way, the differences between Campy NR and SR are fairly small.

Well I don't like to use wiki because the info can be false but yes I could have searched it. But I find asking on a forum gives a more well rounded set of answers. I get more peoples opinion not just one persons opinion. It could be biased or misleading. Usually when questions are answered in a miss leading way on a forum another member can give better advise. Also do not know of any cyclin clubs near I live. I live in ireland and it might be different in the US. I've always been into cycling and havnt heard if then before in my area that is. I will google it now.

Thanks for that, I wasn't sure how much apart they were.

1) Search away, Wiki is self correcting, not much dross there.

B) A forum is less likely to be truly definitive on your type of inquiry due to less rigor than Wiki.

III) A land w/o local cycling clubs where the Kellys, Irish pros past and present live is extremely unlikely.
No doubt Dublin is well represented. Inquire among the elderly club riders who used such kit. You might even consider cycling w/ them.

If the tacked-on cleat fits wear it, with the wool shorts & jersey........my NR RR derail is shifting >40 years on, both it and I are elderly but getting on just fine.

My Nuovo Record group from 1972 is still working great, too, after about 30,000 miles of road work.

The only one I've had since 77. Still looks and works like new.
Then again my wife is using the Sun Tour VGT that I used from 72-77
