caliper brake with quick release help?
Can anyone recommend a good set of older (I'm thinking 80s to 90s) calipers brakes with a quick release? I'm looking for something good (and safer) in it's time I can get on the cheaper side today. I have been looking at Shimano brakes of this nature but am open to suggestions.
thanks all!

I'm partial to the Campagnolo-type cam quick release on the caliper. The Campagnolo versions tend to be pricey, but there are many clones out there from e.g. Gran Compe, SunTour Superbe/Cyclone, various Shimano models, etc. that are often quite affordable.

Shimano BR1050's work really well, especially if you also get the SLR levers.

Lots of wheels and old parts, not enough time

Shimano released an aero brake called Exage Motion early 80-90 that had the quick release on the levers hidden on the side. These can be found quite easy and cheaply. It still had the adjusters for cable tension messin'
Another option to consider to the usual quick release on the caliper arm.

There several good brakes by Suntour, Dia Compe, and Modolo. I am not a huge an of the Modolos but they work and can be pretty inexpensive at times.
