Wolf Cycles USA

Today I came across a bike I'd not seen or even heard of before. Wolf Cycles USA. The owner of an area bike shop ordered it in the early 80's while living near San Diego. Seems that the frame builder, John Sincak, worked for Masi before it's demise.

The frame was made from Columbus steel originally spec'd for track bikes. As the owner only weighed 130 lbs, that is what the frame builder recommended.

Over the years he has switched out various components, and it currently sports Campy bottom bracket, cranks, and hubs, Superbe RD and brake levers and calipers, an ARX FD, a 600 headset, and a Guerciotti fork.

The frame builder signed the frame.

Anyone know anything about Wolf Cycles USA or John Sincak?

Bikes: 2022 Soma Fog Cutter, 2021 Calfee Draqonfly 44, 1984 Peter Mooney, 2017 Soma Stanyan, 1990 Fuji Ace, 1990 Bridgestone RB-1, 1995 Independent Fabrications Track, 2003 Calfee Dragonfly Pro

Never heard of it, but it sure looks nice. I'd have to wear this when riding it:

Bikes: 1986 Alan Record Carbonio, 1985 Vitus Plus Carbone 7, 1984 Peugeot PSV, 1972 Line Seeker, 1986(est.) Medici Aerodynamic (Project), 1985(est.) Peugeot PY10FC

Tha'ts such a cool bike. In the Western tradition of US steel bike builders from that golden age in late 70's/early 80's.
Heck, even that head badge looks 70's and western..... You almost expect John Denver's face to be on the badge too....Forget that thought!
It would even be cooler if you can find the proper fork for the bike to complete the picture.
That "Eyetalian" fork kinda sticks out....especially as it has those pantographs on it. IIRC, Tange and I think, SR, made CrMo steel forks that looked really nice with sloping and windowed crowns but are anonymous enough so it should blend in with well with that bike.

Someone was just discussing this builder on the CR list. Check the archives over there.

The owner has the original fork. He liked the way it rode with the replacement fork.

A Centurion Turbo fork would be dead on for that frame.

Thanks for the heads up on the CR thread. I now see that the builder's name in John Sencak and not John Sincak.
