prewar decals
Just picked up a 1935? Raleigh model 35X sports light roadster with drum brakes for $50. Overall the paint is in fairly good shape, but the decals are almost all gone, the large distinctive "Raleigh Sports Model"on the seat tube is barely readable. also the gold on the neck and the head badge decal is in rather poor condition. Is there a source for prewar decals?
It also has a 4 speed trigger rather than the correct quadrant shifter, is there a source for quadrant shifters other than ebay.
Its a really interesting bike, being 26", but with the frame geometry is like a DL-1, not a sport. The fenders are distinctive too, being flatter and not having the spear point on the front. The centerstand is a very old style that is much longer than normal,is very stable and is held up when retracted by a clip rather than a spring.
One major bummer, when unloading the bike at home I bumped it against the garage door and cracked the previously perfect glass reflector.

For decals, there is no better source than H Lloyd Cycles - H Lloyd Cycles - HOME but despite heroic efforts they don't have everything.
For a quadrant shifter, it is hard to beat ebay. Most people selling vintage bike parts online have shocking prices. Hilary Stone's prices are pretty good but shipping from UK is expensive and dealing with Hilary himself can be frustrating.
