This was a US sporting goods company whose bicycles were entry-level and durable. In the movie "Breaking Away", the Little 500 race use AMF Roadmaster single speed bikes. Could you uplink a few photos?

Some observations about it, like the frame construction? The crankset? The headbadge? The style of handlebars? Are the rims made of chrome steel? Those sorts of details...

It is a steel 26" frame, it has aluminum wheels it is also a 21 speed mountain bike and it has a Shimano cartride crankset. It was red but I stripped it and painted flat gray at my 14year old request.

Bikes: I used to have many. And I Will again.

From the pics and description, it's likely a Walmart Roadmaster. At least it isn't one of their Bicycle-Shaped-Object models. Yours has a 3-piece cotterless crank, an upgrade to those 1-piece steel monstrosities. It should serve a 14 y.o.'s first bike requirements. I think these are produced by Pacific.
