trek 850 fork

I will be getting a 1991 trek 850, minus the front fork. Apparently the 850 that year came with a cruise solid front fork. To get a replacement I will need to know the axle to crown length, the rest I can measure when the bike arrives. Anyone happen to know the crown to axle length?

Please email me and remind me to measure the fork on my wife's bike. She has an 850 from around then.

Bikes: Still a garage full

Save noglider some labor, my 1996 rigid 850, with 1 1/8 threaded steering tube measures 39.5 cm from axle to crown. Without actually measuring, the unicrown clearance over a standard 2.1 inch MTB tire across my various rigid MTBs, which includes Trek 850, HardRock, Stumpjumper, Miyata, and Rockhoppers all look to be about the same for mid 1990 bikes.
