I was starting to clean up this old Trek when I noticed this letter stamped on the caliper opposite the name. What does it stand for?

I agree, it's a model but I'm not sure where it ranks or what it means.

I'm not sure, but these might be the first Gran Compe brakes before they figured out how to make brakes look even fancier. The finish is nice and smooth, compared with the original lower model. I happen to have a pair in my box of spares. Not sure what I'll do with them. I really don't need them.
