pedals for my 1983 Trek 500
hello everyone,
i'm new to bike forums and to cycling...
i just purchased a nice 1983 Trek 500...
the components are all original, and the bike is in
great shape.
the pedals are not original...catalog specs. say that the
bike originally had SR sp-152s...
question: should i go vintage SR with christophe clips?
sp-150s are more common on ebay...does anyone have
opinions/suggestions?
thank you,
brownj417

Personally, I don't like the 150s, with or without toe clips. I do like the SP-11 pedals, otherwise I really like the Wellgo or Sunlite ATB pedals with old style resin clips and leather straps.
Can't beat that they're $20 or less.

MKS makes fine pedals that will look right on your vintage trek and they are available through a wide variety of outlets including amazon

Pedals are one thing that I cant keep oem, I cant go back to straps. I just use the silver 105 spd-sl's, modern technology, can still use my road shoes, and the silver version still has a classy look. But that's just me.
