There are lots of Aluminum replica bottles being sold already with all sorts of bike and component company logos on them, why is it taking so long for anyone to follow up with plastic bottle replicas?
And please make them in "regular" 650ml size too.....
I'd buy a few, depending on cost.

Was checking eBay today, the highest asking price on a vintage bottle was $163. Really?

Yeah, I know it's kind of nuts for something that's essentially not usable. I should have bought more TA bottles when I was 10. IIRC, and I think I do, the first bottle I ever bought was $2.99 including the cage.

Health concerns aside, why add wear and tear to something 40+ YO and NOS? Keep 'em as display pieces. Maybe even in the original packaging...

Good point, especially as most of these NOS bottles will crumble in your hand if you dare squeeze them, not too long from now as they off-gas the last bit of plasticizers they have into the atmosphere, just by sitting around. That's what happened to my favorite Cinelli flying C logoed bottle I had since the mid 80's, when I tried to use it again in the mid 90's.... despite being stored away in a dark, cool space for some years before that.....

Contact time matters; I wouldn't dream of drinking water that's been sitting in an old plastic PETE bottle (much less a garden hose!) for more than a few hours. But run that garden hose until the water coming out is really cold, or fill an old polyethelene bottle shortly before you drink it and you're drinking water that hasn't had a chance to to really leach any chemicals into it.

Most of my water bottles are Gatorade or soda bottles with the #1 recycling code on them; pretty inert. They never taste like anything but what you've put in them, unless you've filled them and let them sit for months at high temps.

If you lived through the leaded fuel era you already have brain damage. No need to make it even worse.

Keep them as display pieces if you want but I usually cannot stand the smell on these things so I throw them away.
