I use candles but the blizzard winds gusting through the barn siding often puts them out. It's really tough up here. Somehow I survive.

I use shop lights. The old 4 foot long fluoresce lights that come with a cord and plug. No wiring needed but the tubes aren't protected ether. You might want to look at a string of construction lights also on a cord and no wiring needed. Just add some hooks in the ceiling.

Yeah man, like it sucks....
Went out on an awesome crispy autumn ride, cut thru a portion of the city and see a pile of junk at a curbside. I noticed three mountain bikes. In the bottom of the litter is a vintage Mongoose IBOC Comp.... as in 'IROC' International Race of Champions but the IBOC meant International Bike of Champions - J.Tomac, Ned Overland, etc.. I should have grabbed the Goose but I was on my road bike. Got back home, cleaned up, put the toys away, jumped in the van to go back and it was all gone. Like a big bad 'poof'. My guess some metal scrapper is going to cash it in for his lousy $6. Whoever you are that grabbed that Goose, I hope you make something good of it and ride it like its meant to be. Dare you scrap it, I hope you end up with four flats on your crappy junk pick-up as you leave the scrap yard!

There now, I feel better already

From: Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada - burrrrr!

Bikes: 1958 Rabeneick 120D, 1968 Legnano Gran Premio, 196? Torpado Professional, 2000 Marinoni Piuma

Winter Blues - in Thunder Bay, Canada. This week...

Snow fell, two to three inches. Pipes froze and so did the water pump that draws water from the lake. Been hunting for dry wood in the bush for two weeks now, just to keep us going until my wood pile dries (next Spring, at the earliest). And...

I am married. However...

On Tuesday, I head west for a month with my lovely wife and recently acquired for free Peugeot Course. After the head west thing, it is head south, to Jamaica, for the winter, planning to return to the frozen pipes next April.

My winter bike projects include riding one for five months somewhere else...

Winter Blues, in Thunder Bay, starts in mid Fall.

From: The Witch City

Bikes: 4 Raleinghs

"Winter is Coming" Moving the work to be done to the basement. Then a bit of service on the exercise bike.

I hate (is there a stronger word) cold and snow. We had our first snow on Sunday.

I'll leave the fixie in the garage in case we have an appropriate day.

From: Hurricane Alley , Florida

Bikes: Treks (USA), Schwinn Paramount, Schwinn letour,Raleigh Team Professional, Gazelle GoldLine Racing, 2 Super Mondias, Carlton Professional.

I've never seen snow, this is all I get to see in South Florida.

Beaches are a little empty due to the 60 degree water temp.

Also lot of tourists on rental bikes.

Maybe one day I'll get to see snow and ice.......

Overrated. First time you drive in it and second time you shovel it.....gets old fast. Subzero temps in March brings windchill where there is no wind.

I moved to Florida. Problem solved. Of course now i need to learn conversational Spanish, Creole, and Jamaican... but it's a small price to pay.
