Bottom Bracket / Crank options

Hi,
I recently bought an old Columbia road bike and have since converted it to a fixie. I am looking to replace the one piece crankset with something a lot newer and lighter. I can not figure out which type of bottom bracket to purchase with this type of shell.

You need a converter or adaptor. I assume your keeping this a SS so you just need a BNX converter and crank.

This is the easy way, Amazon.com : Pyramid M x 3 Piece Bottom Bracket Set Conversion Kit : Bottom Bike Brackets And Accessories : Sports & Outdoors

This is the better way since you can use a better quality BB and have a bigger selection of cranks. https://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Botto...bottom+bracket

Welcome to C & V. You need a three piece conversion kit, something like this. You may need a different spindle to find the proper chain line.

Edit: Late to the party again.

Before you go much further, is that a crack between the down tube and bottom bracket shell?

That weld isn't looking so encouraging. I hope it's just the paint.

Are you measuring with the cups in place? If so pop 'em out then measure the bb shell.
