What on earth does someone do with a double digit number of bikes? I can see 2 or 3 or even 4 or 5, for different types of riding in different conditions. But some folks here have more than 10 or a dozen bikes.

I have one I'll sell you cheap.

I've not counted my bikes and foremost lately, but it is well over "10 or a dozen bikes". I sold one yesterday, but still have a lot.

I ride them; every single one of them.

this picture brings up a good question: do most of you tend to stick with the same saddle across all your bikes, or do you diversify?

I tend to stick with what I know works for me; a Selle Italia Turbo. If my bikes were wall hangers, I would probably diversify, but I ride them all so I want to be comfortable.

The vintage mountain bikes have the stock saddles, and while they get the occasional beer run or ride to dinner, they don't see many long rides.

The stock saddle on the Cimarron was pretty brutal but it was cool to schwinn put an Italian saddle on it. They should of called that saddle the proctologist. Lol.

Is there a need to have two Primatos when theirs so many needy cyclists in the C&V that don't have one? Haha

Thank you all. I will be sharing this thread with my SO to show her how insanely reasonable --generous to her even-- I am with my 'interest' in cycling. I may have to add a caveat for the future.

I should charge a fee for marriage counseling for the many times that I've brought someone in to my basement and they say, "Wait until I tell my wife about this!"

Okay, so I don't have double-digit bikes, but I ride them all. The high-end ones are for longer or faster rides, the lower-end ones are for commuting or running errands, and the middle-end ones are for everything else, which is a lot and may straddle either end. The hardest part is selecting which bike even after the type of ride is settled. But since they are all subtly different I can usually rationalize any choice I wish. Sometimes it is a matter of color.

If I need a saddle I'll go with my preference. If I already have a reasonable one appropriate for the bike's intended use, I'll use it. (There's a Brooks waiting with the Le Champion project. I've never ridden one before. It should be interesting.)

Ask her to help you start a thread "Show us your shoe closet." Then on second thought, maybe that's not such a good idea.

If I get the chance I'll takes some pics of the cluttery/basement/workshop/dungeon/laundry room. Don't wait up for me.
