Eddy Merckx bottom bracket shell............
Picked up an Eddy Merckx (I'll post pics tomorrow or Monday), and can't find any info at all on when they stopped using the BB shell with the "Eddy Merckx" signature on it. Pretty sure it's an early bike, as the signature seat stay caps (IIRC, bike is not in front of me) would indicate.

Me neither. Have had some later bikes with the Merckx logo on the front of the BB lug, but never seen a signature BB.
Signature seat stay caps as well as over-the-BB cable routing would certainly indicate an early 80's frame production date.

Yes, pardon my misuse of the term "signature". I should've stated it has "Eddy Merckx" spelled out, instead of the EM logo. It does have over the BB cable routing, flat fork crown with "signature" pantograph, seat stays also with signature pantographing. I'm away from my camera at the moment, so pics to come soon.

She's not pretty, that's for sure. I should have pics up tomorrow. Frame has a few spots of significant rust to deal with.
