Bikes: they change so much I'm tired of updating this

Updated Merckx Professional

Picked this early 80's frame set up at the start of winter, it was in pretty bad shape. Paint was already stripped, and one of the top tube cable guides was rotted off. Since it was already stripped, I made it the way I wanted. I added seat tube water bottle bosses for those longer rides, and I added a braze on derailleur mount. I intend this to be an everyday rider so I wanted high quality automotive base coat clear coat. A buddy that owns a hot rod shop offered to paint it for a lot less than what paint would've cost me. Rear spacing is spread for a blacked out campy 10 speed wheel set, all black 2015 Veloce group, black 3t bars, stem and seat post and top it off with black fizik wrap and a fizik arione saddle. I still need to paint the pantographs in a week or so when the clear fully cures.

I'm in love.

You guys nailed the color and those practical mods.

Bring on the Campy!

What wheel set did you get? Any pics?

I got the khamsin wheels, pbk had them for $136 shipped with tape and skewers. They are a little heavier than most wheels, but I couldn't afford lighter!

Nice job on the frame. It deserves better wheels, though.

Chip in and I'll get em. All I started with was a frame and fork. I had to buy everything new for this, maybe later!

Bikes: are fun!

Nice work, sounds like fun. Your choices should build out to be an eye grabber.

I haven't ridden Khamsin but I have had great luck with the Fulcrum 5 CX version.

Little heavy but seem to tolerate my well fed frame.....

Great value at $250 per wheelset.

I can cut you a deal on some used wheels. That's the same thing as chipping in, right?

Nah! I'll give these wheels a go for awhile, see how I like them. I'm not to finicky with weight, as long as they hold up I'll be happy. Plus I like the black hubs spokes and rims. Thanks anyways. I can't build a bike to please everyone.

It is great to see bikes that have been brought back from the dead. Very nice!
