Wrenching on the brain

This morning I had a lot of trouble getting the cap off of the maple syrup. The thought went through my mind: "I must have forgotten to grease the threads."

Probably English (or Canadian?) thread cap and you were turning it the wrong way.

Could be the cap threading. However, everyone knows that up here we use maple syrup as a substitute for Loctite so that's probably it.

No-no! Your mistake was that you didn't reinstall it with clean, dry threads!
