3 bikes, same price, same condition, which one?
Raleigh racing usa. Nice paint and chrome. Suntour mix.
Panasonic DX 4000 shimano 105 custom paint by Panasonic. Torpado super strada, pearl white and chrome. Full campy pantograph. 3 t bars stem and saddle. For an everyday rider. Just curious what opinions will be. |
Okay, I'll say it this time:
Whichever fits best. :D |
Forgot, all same size, all three fit the same. Come on!
i know which one I want, I'm just curious what others will pick. |
I will go for the Italian every time.
|
Without any further information, I'd go look at the Torpado first. Don't have a Torpado yet ...
|
If the torpado is all nuovo record...no brainer...however, if that torpado, like i suspect is the cheaper campy stuff made of aelle or lower quality tubing...I would pass
|
what tubing ? we need PICS as well :p
|
The which fits best is definitely the right answer, but I'm going to pretend they all fit equally...
We'd need photos and a more complete parts break down, but I'm inclined to say the Panasonic as a rider. |
I have an absurd level of trust for Japanese engineering.
I say the Panasonic. |
Which one will make you the most $$$ when you part it out?
|
It is Aelle tubing, with what the seller says, super record. Hard to tell by the pics.

Full-panto Campy on a Columbus-piped frame? No-brainer :)
Another vote for Torpado. DD |

Definitely the Torpado.
|
Torpado
I have one that is beat up (sat outside for years) that I was given. it is simply fun to ride....there may be some truth to the italian magic theory If the one you are looking at it is good shape the paint is pretty, mine is not http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps43nznyvo.png Torpado Super Strada http://equusbicycle.com/bike/torpado...obrochure2.pdf secon place panasonic. |
I am curious what model the Raleigh is, I think that "Racing USA" was just something they put on their upper tier bikes of the time, along with the chrome plating. Doesn't really matter though, all nice bikes, but the Torpado wins based solely on return value.
|
Says its a Grand Prix.
|
I would choose the one that most readily fits the equipment I want to use, such as rack, fenders, wide tires, whatever.
|
Torpado

I'll go with the Panasonic. Custom paint, plus I'm finally learning my way around Japanese bikes, wrench-wise. Throwing some Italian stuff in there will just get me all screwed up again. haha |
Is this really a question? The Torpado without any doubt. BTW, that is Nuovo Record not Super Record.
|
Whichever one you'll actually ride and NOT part out.
|
Raleigh would be my choice.
