Please help me identify the year of my Marin

Hello,

Can someone help me identify the year of my Marin Redwood? I believe it's late 90's, but can't find the right corresponding color on bikepedia. Really lame that Marin doesn't host their own archives! Any help would be much appreciated!

I'd say '95ish.

According to bikepedia, Marin's Redwood was a hybrid with 700c tires from '93 to '97, then came back as a comfort style mtb with 26" tires from '03 to '12. But they're all listed with suspension seatposts, adjustable stems, ect. Maybe they're missing a few years of late 90's, early 00's bikes where it was just a low end mtb and not a comfort bike?

Maybe try dating it with the serial number. Google "marin serial numbers" I guess.

Thanks Clang, good idea. Do you know where the serials are located on Marins?

Thanks Benjamin. I has already checked out their site and they only date back a few years in their archives. They then suggest bikepedia for anything older. So weak.

k I found the serial under the bottom bracket, but it seems there are competing interpretations of what each character means. Anyone know how to decode? Serial is: H162BSC004
