Hoping to start a new job closer to home (10 vs 50mi) next month, if I get it I'll be bike-commuting, so I'm setting a goal of 300 miles for May.

4/28 - 20.0, 2117ft More hill repeats. Interesting numbers with power meter. Bet my FTP/Kg is 3.2W/Kg, maybe even a little better. Nothing to shout about, but 2 years ago it was whatever the FTP of a couch potato was. Got a bit of a cough from overtraining and legs were a little heavy still from last weekend.
MTD: 530.2/500 miles, 25943'
YTD: 791.5/5000
Missed climbing goal by 4057', at least it was less than a mile.

Well, my first month. Aside from 9 miles in March, that is. My goal was to ride twice per week; I averaged 2.5 rides per week, total distance of 154.7 miles, longest ride was 27.4.
I had expected to do 10 miles per week, and now if I do less than 10 per ride it feels like I got all dressed up for nothing.
I think I like it here.

Total end distance for the month: 196.3. Initial goal: 150 or 200 if I rented bikes the week of vacation. We ended up with 7 speed comfort hybrids for 2 days (1 in Atlanta and 1 in Charleston). So I'm happy. Goal for May is 250 miles including a 35 mile long ride. My local riding group is going to Santa Fe Century and the wife and I are not so I'm going to use this month to practice increasing max distance so we can start doing the 40-50 routes with them in the coming months. Going to be hard as we start having days where the temps get above 100 now that it is May.
We are doing Taylor House ride in July. Neither of us is sure if we can be ready for the 45 (very hilly and it will be part of a 3 day weekend for our anniversary so we're not sure if we want to push hard or enjoy ourselves). So I'm going to try and train as though we're doing the 45 and if we aren't ready, the 30 should feel easy. 50 lbs to go until I'm road bike ready. Big Trek convention is in July. Hopefully that means 16 models come out and 15s get discounted a little after that which means that I am hoping to be at the top end of my road bike weight around the time Domane 2015 models get closeout prices.

4-16: 13.8mi
4-18: 21.7mi - Cut the group ride short again... then made a wrong turn.
4-22: 27.44mi - Needed some 2-wheel therapy midweek.
4-25: 14.08mi - Solo'd the group ride (short route). Brutal headwinds
