Another bad situation at the same intersection tonight. As I approached on my outbound leg, I could see there was a commotion. Several cars pulled over and people milling about. This time someone had hit a deer. It was sitting upright by the side of the road. I cringed and kept going. About an hour later I crossed again on my return leg, and everyone was gone. Rode over to check out the area, and there was a lot of blood on the pavement. I suspect it didn't end well.

Had a pretty nasty wreck this morning when hitting some water on a right hand turn at about 20 MPH. Went down low side pretty hard. Went to the ER just to get checked out. No broken bones but I have some pretty good facial contusions. Right arm, leg too. Going to take a few weeks to heal up completely. Not sure how long this will keep me off the bike though. Probably not make my monthly goal, though.

Had a pretty nasty wreck this morning when hitting some water on a right hand turn at about 20 MPH. Went down low side pretty hard. Went to the ER just to get checked out. No broken bones but I have some pretty good facial contusions. Right arm, leg too. Going to take a few weeks to heal up completely. Not sure how long this will keep me off the bike though. Probably not make my monthly goal, though.

Had a pretty nasty wreck this morning when hitting some water on a right hand turn at about 20 MPH. Went down low side pretty hard. Went to the ER just to get checked out. No broken bones but I have some pretty good facial contusions. Right arm, leg too. Going to take a few weeks to heal up completely. Not sure how long this will keep me off the bike though. Probably not make my monthly goal, though.
Man sorry about the fall. Really sucks. Fast heals!

Almost went down tonight. Torrential rain on Friday night washed a lot of sand off the shoulder where they have been working on the path and it accumulated at a low point. Didn't quite see it in the dark, and felt the front wheel start to step out at 15-20 mph. Last time I fell at speed it was winter and I was well padded. Don't want to think about the scrapes had I fallen tonight. Feeling for Matt right now.
