A couple months ago I mentioned I had swapped out my Brooks B17 for a Selle Respiro. I tried all the different advice on how to get the B17 comfortable, but it just never worked for me. The Selle was better, but still not great. Then earlier this week I felt the seat shift, so I took a closer look to figure out what was loose. I decided I had mounted it a bit too far back, and also brought out the level to confirm it was mounted level. I thought it was, but it was actually nose-up. So I made some adjustments and tightened it down.
What a difference! I can't believe how much more comfortable the saddle is now.

Nice. Well ahead of my 3000 mile goal for the year. Last year I managed 2700 miles, except I didn't hit 2000 miles until the end of September.
But came close to being sidelined tonight. I just missed a horrendous collision. It was dark and I was just a couple miles from home. Came upon some kids heading towards me on their bikes with no lights. I slowed and they stayed to their right, so no problem. Behind them was an electric scooter with a bright headlamp. He was really moving, at least 15 mph, but also staying right. I had slowed a bit for the kids and had just moved my headlamp to my right so as not to blind the scooter, when out of the dark came another kid on an electric skateboard. He was following the scooter and going just as fast, no lights, except he was practically in my lane. We missed each other by a couple of feet. I shudder to think what would have happened if we collided. One of the scariest bike incidents that I've had.

Weather app said "rain my be forming in 15 minutes", but the little bit of rain there was on radar was sliding south of us. So off I went. About 15 minutes into the ride the sky opened up. And never stopped. I had to detour on my way home because a street was flooded and the catch basins were overflowing. Got soaked through and through. At least it was warm.
