Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Guessing your frame size by your height is somewhat hit or miss. I'm 6', but have relatively short legs. Someone else my height may have long legs. I doubt that the same frame would fit both of us well.

i'm 5'9"ish and have got the small 16.5" gt avalanche is that helps any...felt the 18.5 was way to big for me...different bikes will feel different, so the usual atleast sit on the thing before you buy is the prefered measuring technique and try to blag a test ride aswell to really suss it out, even if it's just up and down the street..

Different bikes measure differently from time to time. Never assume a Bianchi and Trek will fit the same since they both are the same size.
My Raleigh is a 19" and my Giant is a 17" and they both fit me the same.
There are quite a few factors to determine proper fit, but as far as I can tell a 19" Trek in one model will fit *just about* the same as a 19" Trek in another model. It's going from manufacturer to manufacturer that causes issues.
