Weigh-in: 214.4 still rising

But I think I have turned a corner with a specific shift to focus on eating choices instead of exercise as the primary source for weight change from now until Thanksgiving. Just a function of health ( I have a cold), time (I'm having to push my hours closer to 70 per week between the two jobs), and family (daughter sick too). So hopefully I can throw in some exercise the next week.

Weigh-in: 242.2
Loss since last week: 2.4 w00t!

Since it's getting cold, and I loathe riding in the cold, I'll have to focus on my diet. I weigh myself every day so I have lots of good data and last night I figured out that if I keep up my weight loss rate of the past month, then I will be at a svelte 170 (my lean mass weight +8%) by next June. I would be beyond ecstatic if that were to happen.

105Kg again due to my pie and beer diet. I really should diet a little bit more but I'm working on a few large projects and I've fallen into the skip breakast, coffee, spend lunch money on beer, coffee, dinner, beer, coffee routine.

Check-in:
Wt. 166.4 Down 3/10 lb. Chips and pumpkin brownies.
Mileage: 50 total with one 35 mile ride. Not too fatigued at the end so I'm sure I'm good for the El Tour.
Exercise: 4 'Firm' exercise videos.

313.0 this week. Not as much as hoped for but better than gaining I guess.

Actually I get a free breakfast at work so I usually have a sausage and bacon sandwich with a slice of black pudding. Amazingly my resting heart rate is 59 and my blood pressure is 110/80.

First off, I've got to thank you for the idea. No, it's not about a group of Clydes and Athenas, but the protagonist & love interest now are. Adding cycling has really help me flesh out their characters and gave me a great opening scene. I hadn't even thought to put it in the book. Now it starts with the protagonist riding to his first day at a new job. He gets run off the road by a distracted driver(damn cellphones), he's fine but pissed. So, he chucks his water bottle at the car causing it to run into the curb and pop a tire.

The driver's okay, so after a good laugh, he continues on his way, only to arrive at the same time as a tow truck is dropping off the oblivious driver. Turns out he's in charge of HR, and one of the people our poor protagonist has to impress in order to keep the job. His day pretty much just gets worse from there. Except for meeting Mr. Oblivious' assistant, a blonde Athena with tri-color eyes.

That's all I'm sharing so far.

Sorry for the late weigh in, I pulled a muscle in my side while getting ready for work yesterday(freakin' Murphy's Law gets me every time). Everything else took a backseat to me trying not to move; I'm fine now, but yesterday sucked. I'm up over 4 pounds this week, to 340.4, and I have no idea how it happened. My best guess is that the ibuprofen is making me retain water, I certainly feel bloated. At least I'm hoping that it's just the ibuprofen. Oh well, it's just four pounds, I've had worse weeks in the past.

I always have trouble keeping the winter weight off, and have been working hard to keep my activity levels up, but think I need to step it up a bit. My girlfriend is actually thinking about getting a bike, after her previously expressed dislike for the out-of-doors, I had thought this an impossibility. So, if she does, then I'll be riding with her, even if I have to ride out to her place to get her going. BTW, any bike suggestions for a big girl with back problems? I was thinking a recumbent trike might be good for her, it's a pretty serious condition and comfort is a necessity. I've still got to search the forums, but thought asking here couldn't hurt.

Onto my goals. As I said before, I've gotten a good start on the book, but I'm not happy with my word count and really need to work on that. I did great with the riding though.

I help manage a pretty large property, almost 40 acres. Normally, I have a little golf cart to get around in, but lately I've had to share it with a guy I just can't stand. So, I've been using it less and less, until last week, I said "screw it" and decided to use my bike exclusively. I even built a little clipboard holder for it. That's my own little flag there. It's an older version though, the new one has deeper curves and no star, but that was on the computer so that's what I used. I'll paint one on, if I ever have the time.

That's my week, lots of riding around, a bit of writing, bit of building, and four mystery pounds. Sorry, for the long post, I'm a bit wordy tonight.

P.S. Thanks again for the idea, if I ever get published, you're getting an acknowledgment.

I just want to say that this "Biggest Loser" has been rather motivational. I'm down 9 pounds since we started and hope to be down another 1 at the next weigh in. That'll take me to 50 pounds lost and 5 off my goal!

Thanks!

Missbumble. Could we do both largest percentage and largest weight loss?

We're really favoring the lighter riders with this, and i know there are some heavier riders who have shed amazing amounts of weight, but aren't getting top honors because the percentages don't work in their favor.

I think it'd be cool!
