Good day for first rides. I was out of town Saturday until late afternoon, so Sunday was my first "real" ride. Since last weekend, I now have fenders. It was 55°F today with strong winds. 18 miles and the legs are feeling it a bit.

The fenders are a bit wobbly; front fenders on tadpole trikes are an exercise in spindly supports, and they need just a bit more. I'll pick up a few Planet Bike fender struts and figger something out.

Haha I'm 4494... I don't know how to find the total amount of riders though.

I've got 6 miles under my belt.

I put in a little over 14 miles this weekend. That brings me up to about 24 miles for the month. I'm planning on a slightly longer ride this weekend. And hopefully a couple of short rides during the week, even though I have stuff going on 3 nights this week.

It's a cheap and cheerful thrill for me when my position goes up a page. Today I did a brief 6.9 miles around the cemetery. My favourite trail is still covered in ice with occasional strips of slippery mud so it looks like I'll be warming up in the cemetery for the next little while -- although if we get a couple of warm rainy days most of the ice will be replaced with just mud.

One thing I did figure out yesterday moments before my FIRST RIDE OF THE YEAR is don't wonder if I remember how to ride my bike when getting on my bike in the street. Save that kind of second guessing for the park.

49 miles today pushed me over 100 miles for the month. Actually that's also the week's total. See photos of today's ride in the Post a photo thread.

The derailleur-killing ice and snow have finally retreated enough and I went out for my first ride of the year yesterday. It was more of a test ride to see if my 'bent trike was good to start getting serious, so it was just a bit over 5 miles. Partly cloudy skies, light breezes, the gurgle of the snow melt going into dark river with its banks of pure white where the snow is still holding on. Throw in a few hundred meadow larks singing all over the place.

The trike seemed as good as ever, the husky ran very well, and I felt great. Definitely felt good enough to tackle my 'shortest' loop of 14 (maybe even my 20) miles even after the long winter thanks to the past 2 weeks with my trainer.

Spring is finally here and I'm ready to hit the ground rolling. I'm hoping to break 100 miles before the month is out.

I did just under 6 miles today. My oldest son and I went for a ride. I let him try "greenie meanie", my "ghetto" single speed. Then he understood how fun biking could be. Then he also realized why I was willing to buy him a different bike, something that he could ride, and keep up with me and the rest of the family. So, even though he's not a convert, I think getting him a new bike will help him enjoy it when we go riding.

I may be able to make it just under the wire with a spinning class and my planned ride of 35 miles this weekend. I have had issues with my hip from the the start of the month. Plus, the rain and even a day of snow has kept me from riding when I wanted to.

I made it for March with two good weekends of riding and a few after-work rides in the afternoon. I was really hoping to get more miles in today (Friday) but it dawned 18°F this morning with a forecast of only 35. Sat & Sun are looking a bit better, some sun and 40+.

Economic slowdowns mean my employer has reduced our workweek to 4 days every other week through June, so I get a 3 day weekend at least every other week. More riding time if the weather ever warms up.

I'm at about 42 miles so far. I'm hoping to get a few more in Sunday (my day off). If I get home from work Sat, and it's not too bad out, maybe a few more then, as well.

I'm up to 63 km. I lost a few days due to laziness

I think I may just make 150 km before April 1. If laziness (or a new mystery novel) doesn't over take my senses.

I had a nice 20 km ride today, even picked up a bag of groceries on the way home.

Tomorrow I'm planning on riding to the beach and I'm looking forward to it!

Just above freezing today. I bundled up in my new pants (wore rain pants in the last ride at a warmer temp) and the rest of the cold weather gear. Right away the wind was cutting right through the pants, and when I turned into the wind I had an instant headache across the forehead.

Put me down for maybe 1/2 mile.

Rain today so I'm staying indoors (I'd like to say drinking cocoa and playing Scrabble, but I'm stuck cleaning the bathroom and reorganizing kitchen cupboards).

But my ride yesterday was FABULOUS!. 30 km down to the the beach. Happy day!

I'm up to 93 km. I'm hoping I can meet 150 by Tuesday.

Well, I didn't make it. I did a red hot 38.

I got my bike (LHT) on March 7, rode for a couple of days and then the rains/cold came back. Got in a couple more rides, up to 9 miles, and pulled a muscle in my back, had a few 12 hour work days, and then my mother had a heart attack. I even took my bike with me when I traveled to North Carolina, but it rained steadily after she got out of critical care. Didn't ride it once along the beautiful greenway there.

So now I"m back and feeling sad that I didn't make the challenge. Hoping for a better April. Are we on?

OK, pictures will come.

Well I ended March with a grand total of 74 miles. At least it beat out my Feb. mileage of 56.

I need a kick in the pants, as I've had some beautiful riding weather and I haven't been motivated enough to get off my arse and ride. (grrr)

Well, I got about 47-48 miles in for the month. So, not quite a hundred, but a good start. For April, I fought the high winds, and got a 5 mile ride in, so I'm happy. Maybe more this Sunday, if the weather is nice.

Had some pretty good weather here, but its been windy. Still rode most every day though except for a week off at the beginning of the month. Been getting our bikes (mine and some friends) dialed in for the ensueing summer months. Last couple of days, on our afternoon rides, I must've pushed too hard a gear and wound up screwin' my knee up a little.

So now I close out the month with a bum knee and 188 miles.
