Well, I couldn't find anything about how they are scoring. Granted I didn't sign up, but there didn't seem to be any links to rules and scoring.

Without knowing how you score it's very hard to pick a team. Is there points for stage wins, places in the stage, or just GC standing?

A little more info will help a lot in deciding if you want guys who will likely place well in the end but maybe not win any stages. Likewise there are guys who will win stages but will not get close to contending for the overall.

I think this adds up to $500. It;s a little heavy on sprinters and for tomorrows Time Trial. Will probably want make some changes after the time trial to concentrate on climbers and GC guys.

Anyway, just a suggestion. Would like to get Chavanel in there but couldn't make the salary work.

OK, this bench thing will be a lot of work. Took out mostly the pure swprinters with the excpetion of guys who can Time Trial over a short distnace. Really gotta get a fw more climbers in the mix as well for later.

Do you have to carry 15, or can you gamble and carry 12 or 13 to free up some dollars?

I believe i have to play 9 and have 6 on ht ebench. I kept the same line up as today for tomorow. Should I change It? all changes must be in by 3AM and I am off to bed...POh dear... we need to firm up the line up by Stage 4. No changes - after that.

We came in 3/4 for today vs the other teams in my league... Sad. Better than I would have done on my own!!! THANK YOU... so maybe we shoudl think about Stage 3.

Ugh, we'll need to come up with a better way to identify bench and starters. I selected Zabriskie (Current US Natioanl Time Trial Chamo) and he apparently didn't make your roster. Cost you 22 points, lol. No Prob, it's a long race.

I really need to get a day or two ahead of the stages with their profile. There is also a possibility of switching out a couple of guys before stage 4.

I can help get you through the early stages and build you a little chart about each of your rider's strengths and weaknesses and show you where to look to find out how much climbing each stage is, how long it is, and if it favors climbers or spinters. There will always be points available for the sprinters and climbers so a mix is needed.

I didn't have a lot of time to go over the pics in detail and did them more from memory than what they have posted for results in the Classics and the Giro this year. You have two solid GC contenders in Menchov and Kirchen, solid sprinters in Farrar, Hushvold, and Millar, and Menchov is a serious threat for the king of the moutains jersey too. We may need to think about looking at another GC contender and swapping out a sprinter for a climber.

THANK YOU!!!!

OK what is GC?

Are you figuring out what you are dealing with yet? I am not the brightest light bulb yet -Together though just think how good we can be? OK watching yesterdays Lance ride now. So cool to be able to watch lance's every move on a bike. Inspiring.... Shall we move our little discussion to PM and email? I am not sure everyone is interested.... since no one else has responded... (not that that has stopped me before )

Ugh, by not having Farrar on the roster you lost 2nd place points, but still got 4th with Hushvold.

Yea, we can go PM, but I work dep nights so I'll get a roster change to you around 8 or 9 central time. I will also sastrt working on a way to helkp you do some of the roster moves based on what kind of stage is going to be run for the day.

EDIT: GC means General Classification, i.e. Yellow Jersey

Me too. I honestly think it is the ONLY sporting event that I've Tivo'd this year. Cycling is an intesting chess match in motion. There is an awful lot of strategy involved with the teams. I don't know if you caught the ending of the 2nd stage. The setup for the sprinters was beautiful. You'd see a whole group from a team bringin their sprinter into a good postion. As soon as the you get close to the end and the sprinters fire-up the non sprinting team member pull off to the side and let the sprinters do their thing. In some ways a sprinter ending day like yesterday is like watching a lot of NBA games. Just watch the last 10 minutes. Either it will be a blow out, or you'll get an exciting ending. The precedding hour(s) of riding is all about just getting to the finish for the "real" part of the race to take place. The mountain stages are more interesting along the way as the riders have to be careful not to use up too much energy in the early climbs. Either way I enjoy watching it.

Happy riding,
André
